Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

those with 2 LO in daycare??

So my kids are 13 months apart.  DS is on the little side and has just about outgrown the infant carrier car seat which presents my new problem.  I normally get DS first at daycare, put him in his carseat then go get DD in her room at daycare.  I normally set DS on the floor in his carseat because sometimes DD doesn't want to leave and I have to chase her, pick her up then get her coat on.  I am not sure what to do when I don't have that seat to put down on the floor anymore.

I am thinking my best bet is to get DD first and bring her into the infant room to get DS and hope she behaves and doesn't throw a fit on the floor.  Any better suggestions??

Re: those with 2 LO in daycare??

  • My DD is older, but when she was a bit younger I could go to her room first and say hi, tell her to get ready, etc.  She needed more 'transition' time than DS did to finish playing and such. Then her teacher would get her coat on and her bag while I was getting DS and his bottles, etc.  Then I'd go back and get her.

Getting them out to the car....well I'd resort to whatever was needed. Most of the time she was my 'big helper' and carried the bottles in their cooler, etc. Or I'd have her wait at the door and go buckle DS in and then get her. Once she was old enough to do her own buckles life got SO easy. Now I just open her door, she climbs in and does her buckles, and I get DS all in and then come back and check her.
