Cautiously moving over

Hey ladies! I got a bfp on a cbe digital yesterday, so I am cautiously moving over here with you lovely ladies. I was lucky enough to get a "confirmation appointment" with my Dr for tomorrow and should have blood work results by the end of the week, so I will feel more confident once I hear back! I am pretty nervous - I was dx with pcos at age 15 and have read that it puts you at a higher risk of m/c, so I pray this is a sticky baby. Positive thoughts, right? This is our first pregnancy, so I am looking forward to the journey with you ladies!

Welcome and congrats! I am also a PCOS gal and my RE told me the same thing. Are you being treated for it? He told me he doesn't see as much m/c rates with those being treated with the Metformin.

my treatment was BCP. I asked my Dr last January what to do when we wanted to start TTC and he said just to go off the pill and we would manage the symptoms if/when they occurred. I am 28 and went off the pill in July. I have noticed some facial hair come back and some acne since going off the pill and had planned to discuss it with my Dr at my annual exam in January. This was my 4th cycle (going on sixth month), so I think I am in an odd situation and was able to get pregnant without fertility treatments and my longer cycles could have been the result of coming off of the pill. I have no clue what to think. My current Dr is not the one who dx'ed me, so I think he was skeptical about whether I would still have symptoms after coming off the pill and perhaps I don't have it anymore. So hopefully the blood work will give me some answers! I definitely plan to discuss all of this with him tomorrow. Sorry for the long winded answer!

You're fine girl. I would definetly bring this back up with them. Especially since you have seen some symptoms come back up. The BCP didn't work for me so they took me back to the Metformin. Maybe they could run your PCOS b/w again to see if your levels are high enough to take the metformin. That way you know for sure and won't have any worries!

My IVF nurse also said for those with definete PCOS - we have that higher risk of the gestational diabetes and a higher risk of passing problems along to our babies. Not to worry, just wanted to pass the info along!! : )

Thanks, Jessie. I appreciate the feedback! I will definitely ask him his thoughts on redoing my blood work - especially since I will be getting it done anyway to confirm pregnancy. I already have my charts printed off to share with him as well - hopefully he doesn't think I am nuts!
