Anyone work weekends?

I haven't worked weekends in, like, 15 years or something.  I took a new job and the schedule is Sun-Thurs.  Tomorrow is my first Sunday.  I'm not dreading going into work because it will be more dead in the building (the dept is 24/7 hence the weekends), but I'm a little sad that I'll be missing a day with the fam.  I had off last Friday, and while I got stuff done (and save on daycare $), I still had the kids by myself so it wasn't like we were all able to go do stuff.

I don't know, just wondering if anyone else (or your H) works weekends and how it is for you.

I work Tues-Sat. It has its pros and cons but it does suck sometimes cuz Dh works M-F

I work every weekend.  It sucks.  My days off are Mondays & Wednesdays so while Im at home the kids and dh are all in school.  It is sort of nice to have the time home alone to get stuff done, nap, grocery shop etc but then I wish I could have my days off on days they dont have school.  

Im off this weekend because I requested off to do some Cmas activities.  We had breakfast with Santa today and then went to Toys R Us to do some returns and shopping with my mom.  Then we went to the mall and had pics taken with Santa.  Tomorrow I actually get to go to church!  Im so excited!!  Then tomorrow night is our church Christmas Cantata (Christmas singing/program) that Im in.  My schedule is 5:30-2am so even when I work weekends Im off pretty early to have some of the day left.  Im usually just too tired to do anything.

I work every fourth weekend and DH works 4 on, 4 off, so we both work weekends. Thankfully, my ILs watch the kids so on the weekends when we both work we have childcare. I really don't mind working weekends, it's nice because not as many people are around (I work in a hospital, so all the bosses and whatnot aren't there). LOL

I work Mon-Thurs and my husband works T, R, F, Sa, Su. In addition to weekends, his shifts are usually evening shifts, like 11a-8p or 1p-9p. Also, his hours change every week (retail)

Pros-  We only need 2 days daycare, and on those 2 days, DS can get up when he wants and there is no rush to do breakfast/getting dressed because DH doesn't even take him until early afternoon.

Cons- Can't plan ANYTHING! I dont know his schedule until a week in advance. He misses a lot of family weekend activities, like nephews bday parties. If we are planning something huge (like DS's bday party), he has to take off work. Also, we can only do 1 vacation a year and it can't be near a holiday. Suck! Aaaand, I end up doing dinner/bath/bedtime routine alone about 4 nights a week. Which isn't terrible now, but I'm nervous about doing it alone with 2-3 kids. Lastly, if I want to do errands on the weekend without DS (like xmas shopping) I have to get up early and do them at like 8AM so I can be home before DH has to go to work. I cant do errands on the days that DH is home because I'm at work.
