Its MUD. She's been posting on SAHM about all kinds of over the top things...bringing her 2yo breakfast in bed every morning so she can watch tv, putting up a 7 foot tree in DD's bedroom, buying her DD a present everyday for the 23 days before Christmas plus Christmas presents, yada yada yada.
i just replied and agreed with what you said. I taught K for 5 years and would have been VERY uncomfortable accepting that much money from any parent... if it was a parent I loved - kid I loved - it would make me feel like it looked like they were bribing me in some way... if it was a parent I wasn't crazy about with a kid that drove me nuts- i'd feel strange guilt.... I agree, a $50 gift is super generous but an amount that wouldn't make a teacher feel strange. Yikes.
and to post about it... almost seems like she wants to AW that she has money to throw around.

STOP!!! LOL!!!! I just lost my mind about bringing 2 yo breakfast in bed so she can watch TV.......that's freaking hilarious!
In the state that I teach there is a morality clause where state workers (including teachers) can not accept a gift valued at more than 50.00, to do so would be unethical. That amount of money would make me uncomfortable, and I'd have to return it anyways.
