My DD will be 6 in April and several times a week she will hold her pee so long that she can't pull her pants down without peeing on herself. Anyone else have a child like this? What do I do??? TIA
Both of my kids have gone through a stage where they've done this. For DS, it was closer to when he was pt. For DD it happened a little later -- like she just decided she didn't feel like being hassled by stopping play and running to the bathroom.
I didn't make a super-big deal out of it when it happened. I did help my kids understand how the bladder works and why you can't just hold it and hold it without eventually having an accident. I gently kept an eye on them for a few days and reminded them to heat for the potty if I saw the least little sign that they were holding it.
I still have to remind my DS to pee if he's playing video games, and he's nearly 6 1/2.
My 6 1/2 year old does this. He swears he doesnt have to go, then he'll have an accident. I just try to tell him to go when I see the signs, but he fights me on it every time. I think he is getting more aware lately, I have not had to tell him as many times.

I could have written this exact post myself. My DD will be 6 in April also and she does the same exact thing! She even had a week where she had multiple accidents at school. And, if I notice she's dancing around and needs to go, I tell her to go and she gets SO mad. She swears she doesn't need to.
She's basically told me that she doesn't want to take the time to go when she's "busy". So, she's pretty much choosing not to go, which is infuriating. If she has an accident spontaneously, I don't make a big deal of it. But if I tell her to go to the bathroom and she refuses, I warn her that if she has an accident she will lose tv/computer privileges because she was told to go and ignored it. She seems to care more now that there are consequences and she tries a little harder.
Also, if she has an accident at school she loses privileges at home for that day because I know for a fact that they have specific bathroom break times and I have told her to go every time whether she needs to or not and she only has accidents when she does NOT go during the designated times.
My 6 year old does this. I swear there are days when she doesn't pee at all at school and then runs straight to the bathroom and barely makes it. On road trips she will sometimes not go to the bathroom at all (7+ hrs).
She is very stubborn and determined and I see this as part of that control. I'm sure she will grow out of it at some point-this is not something I'm terribly worried about yet.
I see my DD1 in every one of these posts! What is the deal with our 6yr olds! I could have sworn it was just my child doing this! I try to explain to her that the games/books/movie - whatever she is doing will still be there when she gets back from the bathroom and if she continues to hold it, her private area is going to be very sore.
