DD is starting to go more often 3.5 to 4 hours b/w feedings and anywhere from 3-5 oz per feeding. My supply's been enough to feed her and establish a decent supply but as she goes to 4 hours b/w and I go back to work should I be pumping every 2? or would it be sufficient to wait every 4?
I'm part time at work, and if I could get away with pumping only once at work (6 hour work day) then it would make life a bit easier... I'd like to do whatever I need to ensure I can continue EBF. crossing my fingers!!
Re: EBF - do I need to pump as DD goes longer b/w feedings?
Nope, you don't need to pump any more frequently than she'll be nursing naturally. You don't want to skip any feedings, so as long as you are pumping whenever she is getting a bottle for a feeding, you are doing great!
Of course, you could pump more frequently if you wanted to in order to build your stash, but given your work situation, I don't think it's practical and definitely not necessary.
