LO is now a month old. I would guess she's a little over 8 lbs now. When she was born, she was only 6 lbs 15 ozs and then lost 11% of her birth weight. We used sposies for the first 2 weeks when she was born. Using CDs was just overwhelming then not to mention, the prefolds were a bit too big for her. I did not have any BGs in my stash then. I know a lot of girls like the prefolds but it just didn't work for me. Maybe I was not putting them right but there will always be leaks when I put it on LO :-P. Also, like I mentioned, LO hates them. I guess it's good that she cries right away when she feels the wetness thus your cue that she needs to be changed. Also, I think LO started to have a rash from the prefolds because it does not wick in moisture. Whenever we would change her, the prefold will be soaking wet.

For BGs, depending on how big your LO is, yes, they may not fit well during the first few weeks especially if your LO has skinny legs. We started using them week 3, I think. We did not have any problems though since LO has slowly been fattening up :-P. BGs fit very well not to mention they are very absorbent. Just this morning when DH was changing LO, he said "this diaper is really good!" since the inserts sucks in the moisture so LO does not feel wet at all.  I also like the you can adjust the absorbency so I use the thicker insert at night.

We used Thirsties cover and unbleached prefolds. I am glad I did not buy a lot since I don't like using them :-P. We're keeping them as a back up though.

I suggest you try out different AIOs before buying a ton of the same kind.  I bought one Fuzzibunz to try out. I like it but not as much as the BGs. We had a couple of leaks using FB but so far had non with BGs. I think you can never go wrong with BGs though. You're probably aware of the sale going on right now where you buy 5 and get 1 free. I think it's a great deal since they seldom go on sale. I now have 24 in my stash :-). I also like Bum Essentials. We only have 2 in my stash though. Oh, I also like to mention that I like the snaps better than the aplix. I wash the CDs with our BG cloth wipes and sometimes they stick to the velcro so it's a pain. I want to try out Flip diapers since I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Ok, that's good to know. I have some BG in my stash already, mostly the BG Elemental One Size, with snaps, so I was wondering about getting some of the 4.0s. I thought we might hold off until about 3 months, but it sounds like they are working great on your 1 month old, so maybe I'll get a few of those sooner to try out, depending on what LO ends up weighing. Have you seen the new Artist Series prints? They are SO cute!

 I have also stocked up on some PFs, about 1 dozen orange edge newborn PFs, and then 1 dozen of the yellow edge infant size. And then I have some that are kind of a random in between size. I guess we will see how those work as well. I've paired those with some Thirsties covers (xs and duo wraps). I figure if PFs don't work out we can always use them as burp cloths and rags around the house. I also saw one blog where they were using them as Swiffer mops! I also have a few Kissaluvs 0 fitteds for my skeptical DH. 

I've heard so many good things about BG that I've mostly been filling my AIO stash with them. I'm just hoping it all works out as I have pictured in my head! Thanks for all the good info!
