We just got one for DS for his 4th b-day...he loves it!
He's never played anything like it so I still have to help him along but he's getting the hang of it pretty quickly and it's nice for him to have something 'quiet' to do while his little brother is sleeping.

My ILs got one for DS for Christmas. He's played with it in the store a few times and seemed to get it much more than he does his Leapster, which he's had for almost a year. He was actually playing the games on the Mobigo.
DS has one and really likes it. I like that he can use it completely independently. We use it on car rides mostly and he really enjoys it. I opted for that over the explorer, b/c it teaches the keyboard which he will need to learn anyways as he gets bigger, it has a car charger attachment in case batteries run out (we use it primarily in the car) and the games are cheaper than the explorer.
