I was just thinking that 27 years ago my mom wanted to name my sister Winnifred because she thought the nn Winnie was just so cute. Wonder Years anyone? I can't remember what she proposed for my name, but I do remember it was equally as bad. If I was a boy, my name would've been Staurt. I'm so thankful that my dad vetoed my mom's favorite names and we got such nice names - Abigail and Rachel.

Re: Thankful my dad vetoed my mom's name choices
In my family we have the opposite problem but it is more with spellings. My dad insisted on my name being spelled uniquely and I have to constantly correct people on the spelling andthe pronunciation of my name. My mom as told me that if she could go back in time she would have stood up to my dad and given me a normal spelling.
Also if my dad had his way I would have a sister named Harrison and a brother named Wolfgang. Oh and he said I should spell my daughter Sophia's name, Xofya.
If my mother had her way. I would have been named Charmaine Anne. My nn would have been Cammie because my initials would have been CAM.
Thank you Dad!!!
Oh wow. Lol

Not quite that long. My baby sister was born in 1990 and my mom named her Danica after the acress who played Winnie Cooper, so it must have been on then. I remember watching it, although I was about 8/9 at the time.
