Was just wondering when you are supposed to register? I feel like it's too early, but thought it might be a good idea to do so before Christmas. What are you girls doing?
normally people register after their gender scan or 20-24w. Target will reset their infant section in January-about the time most of us will be getting our big u/s'- so if you do it now then lots of stuff could get discontinued. Assuming you will use Target as one of your registry options, that is...lol.

I have went ahead and registered for a few items at Target. I'm just a little over 12 weeks, but I thought this would be helpful to my family who have asked about buying Christmas gifts. Even if things are discontinued I just figure I can go in and take them off of the registery. Hope this helps.
We're waiting at least until after the anatomy scan, hoping to find out the gender (see what I did there? )
I've actually found some bedding I like for either gender already, and I'm kind of afraid it's going to be discontinued and I won't like anything as much in the spring!
I have actually started one, but it is kind of just for me. I made one on myregistry.com Whenever I see something I really like I add it to my list just so I remember it. I figure I can go through it at a later date to delete and or add more items.

Careful...your actually finding out the sex! Surprised the gender police didn't catch that
I need to get a copy of the Baby Bargains book I've seen mentioned here often. I'll probably start working on the registry after we find out what we've having.

Get a copy of Baby Bargains and do a little at a time. Trying to do it all in one day, your head will explode all over BRU lol The monstrous wall of bottles alone can be very overwhelming
this made me laugh. last year i went with my best friend to BRU to finish her registery. this was her 2nd trip there. when we got to the giant wall of bottles, she freaked out and lost it. we had to sit for awhile so she could calm down and then get advice from the other mom's who where shopping that day.
I have already started mine at BRU and BuyBuyBaby. We are having the first grandbaby on both sides and as soon as we told people they said they needed a Christmas list for baby. I decided it was just easier to start the registry. We have also angered a lot of people by going gender neutral and deciding to what until the delivery room to find out what we are having, so the the scan in January wont really matter.
I plan on having my shower around 30 weeks. My best friend did this and at first I thought it was really odd to do it that early. The day after her shower, she ended up having an emergency C-section. Friends and family were able to finish the nursery and get everything set up by the time the baby was released 2 weeks later. After seeing that I would rather allow enough time to get ready and figure out what we still need, then end up having the baby early and dealing with that.
Not to sound stuck up, but I am very picky and if I do not direct some of our families and say this is what we want, chances are it would be going in the trash. DH grandmother thinks the Dollar store is the best place to shop because she is more concerned with the quantity of gifts than the quality. If she were to pick up pacifiers or bottles from the dollar store they most likely wouldn't be used. I plan on BF, but when I go back to work baby will get pumped milk. I want to use the same brand pacifier and bottle so there is some consistency.

Get it!! I just bought it this week and it's amazing.
I did mine at 20 weeks last time, which worked out well because I didn't feel the need to get it all done at once. DH & I went together the first time & did the major stuff, then I went back the next weekend to do the little things that we didn't get to the last time (bottles, monitor, etc...things DH didn't really care about) And I had some friends who already had babies take a look at it, and I edited a few things based on their feedback.
I'm planning to wait until after the anatomy scan in February. We're hoping to find out the sex so I'll have a better understanding of some stuff to register for, even though I'm planning to keep it all pretty neutral anyway.
I also need to pick up a copy of Baby Bargains. I did put it on my Christmas list for my mom to get me though, since I feel like it's a joint gift for DH and I and only our immediate family knows anyway.
I have already started registries at BRU and Target. Just the essentials so far. Once we found out we were having twins I had to reevaluate what we needed. Its been more about research and twin options. I'll probably finish it off with gender specific stuff if we are able to find out the genders around 20-24 weeks. My family also started asking about where we were going to register so they could have time to prepare financially (I guess).
I've started adding things slowly to mine more as a collection of thoughts. I'm at risk for bedrest, preterm delivery so I probably will be having the baby shower earlier rather than later and would rather start preparing for when people ask... I know most won't until they know the sex but that is right around the corner!!!
