I am going out this weekend for my 30th birthday. I want to get some makeup, I don't usually wear it, and haven't bought new stuff in years, and am not great at applying it myself. Has anyone had their makeup applied at the mall at Dillards or Macy's? Did they do a good job? I plan on purchasing some of it if I like it, but don't know what store/makeup to use. Any tips would be appreciated. TIA
Re: Has anyone had their makeup "done" at Dillards or Macy's?
check with the particular counter you're interested in for their policies. Some will do a free "makeover" if you buy a minimum purchase. I did MAC a few years ago and they wanted you to buy at least $40 worth of stuff (which isn't hard because it's pricey to begin with).
I've also gone to Chanel, Lancome (my fave) and prescriptives. I always buy things so I don't know what their individual policies are off hand.
Depends on your style. MAC was a little out there for me, though their make up is great and I have some. I tend to like Lancome products the best. I loved my chanel eye shadows I had and I have a shadow brush from there that I adore.
HAVE FUN!!!!
omg I forgot the most important part!!! if the brand doesn't mean that much to you scope out the counter who is offering a free gift with purchase! I love love love the free gifts. there are always all sorts of goodies so you get a lot more for your money!!
and happy birthday!
Oh, good idea! Didn't even think about that. I literally haven't bought makeup in forever and usually buy from Target or Walmart, so anything I get from the mall would be an upgrade.
