Would you spell it that way? I love it but we'd call him "Cane" but I am NOT fond of C-A-N-E

Canain [Cain]

Canean [still be Cane]

And I don't like Canaan with a 'K', however I like 'Kane' more than 'Cane'

 

Such a dilemma! Middle name will be Alec, by the way...Help me out, ladies!

Definitely spell it Canaan.

Kanaan looks awful and both Canain and Canean would change the pronunciation.

Spell it Canaan (which I love, btw) and spell the nn however you want. It's your kid! I know a Kathryn who goes by Katie instead of Katy, etc. It is your call!

Love Canaan! We thought about it once, but that was durring the whole Caden craze. You need to spell it Canaan and then if he goes by Cain, I see no reason the nn shouldn't be spelled Cain.

Yup. Go with Canaan. Spell Cane/Cain however you want. Nns don't have to be directly related to the main name. Example- I'm Rebekah and go by Becky. As a kid I went by Becca. No sense there. Whatever. Not a big deal.

Canain would be Cuh-NANE and I would say Canean as Cah-NEEN.
