did you choose your delivery hospital because of proximity to home? will you/did you travel to another hospital because you did not like what was close to you?
I delivered at Community Medical Center in Toms River because the hospital offered a wonderful atmosphere and the medical staff there is wonderful. It just also happened to be down the road from us. It is also the hospital my OB delivers at.
I delivered at Morristown Memorial for a bunch of different reasons. It is one of the top hospitals in the state, it has one of the best NICU units (just in case) and that is the only hospital that my OB delivers at.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience at MMH.
Meadowlands in Secaucus. It wouldn't be my first choice, it's about 40 mins from my house, but it's the ONLY hospital my dr. delivers at and I will follow her anywhere.

Ditto this. I happen to live just 8 minutes away from it, too - but even if i didn't I'd still travel a bit to deliver there... and to see my OB who I love (Dr. Bissinger).
DH's cousin lives an hour away and still picked MMH b/c it's so good.
I am going to use Saint Barnabas in Livingston. I picked it because it is the only hospital my md works with, it's closest to my house, and everyone I know says really great things about their experience at the hospital. However, I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about the any of the hospitals they delivered at.

I will be delivering at Community Medical Center also. It's my OB's hospital and is the closest to us. All of my siblings have delivered here (12 nieces/nephews) and it's really a great experience from what I am told.
Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment
going to Overlook in Summit b/c the dr i will be going to delivers there and it's closer to my house...i feel more comfortable being that close to my house
I delivered at Saint Barnabas. It was only a 15min drive from the house, my OB was out of there & they only offer single patient rooms in the maternity ward. I had a great experience there.

I will be delivering at Saint Barnabas (Livingston). It's where my OB, who I love, is based and it's so close to home. Also, I was born there and I'm hoping for a great experience :-)

I delivered at Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick. I had to switch OB's at 30 weeks because I became high risk and the group that I was with for the first 30 weeks was not associated with a high risk group. RWJNB was a 45 minute ride from my house but it was ABSOLUTELY worth the drive. I had a scheduled c-section and it was a great experience. I would highly, highly recommend this hospital.
I am delivering in Englewood but I live in Marlboro, NJ. Why Englewood? I have always had a great experience when I was hospitalized for other issues, my OBGYN of 10 years delivers out of there and I just moved to South Jersey and do not know the surrounding hosptials or have doctors down here...

THIS x100!!!!! - plus it is close to me (although a few are) and the only hospital I have ever medically been in since my own birth.
MMH- I was supposed to deliver at Overlook but had a very complicated pregnancy and was on bed rest in the hospital and was transfered there because of the NICU. So glad I did that place saved my life and my babies lives (twins). The staff is amazing and the ward looks like a hotel!
Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch NJ, it was 35 min from my home(I had another one closer but chose Monmouth Medical Center because my girlfriend recommended it). It was great place, stuff was very nice, beautiful room after you deliver(like really nice, better than hotel room in Tropicana in AC when we went there once with my DH). I only would mention to watch out for the bill they send you later, they had tried to overcharge me amd I disputed with my insurance company and won(my ins stated that Monmouth Medical Center had no right to collect money from me since they were in-network hospital and so forth).

Delivered the first one at St Barnabas and didn't care for it. The L&D nurses were great but the baby nurses were awful. I cried the whole way home.
Delivering DD2 at Morristown Memorial and hoping for a better experience.
