Toddler sized air mattress or other solution?

I seem to remember someone a while back (many, many months) that there is a toddler sized air mattress out there. Something that has higher sides so the kiddo doesn't roll off or something. Do you remember this?

I'm looking for something else that DD can sleep in/on when we travel since I think she's going to fight us with her pack-n-play. She's just about as long as it and just doesn't fit anymore.

Last time we traveled she slept in the bed with us and don't want to make that a habit.

  • Here's one, but I find just a twin air mattress to be easier and much cheaper.  We blow up the twin, push it either against a wall or a bed, and then line the other side with pillows. If he does roll off, he lands on the pillows.

They have one very similar to this at Costco right now (I saw it at the south location), and I'm thinking it's less expensive than this one.

  • Get her a nap mat. Really. Kids are pretty rugged. A crib mattress is like a brick and they never complain!  And you can get plenty of other uses out of it. Travels light. Make it fun, tell her she's camping! You could even use the IKEA igloo or something.

My parents never got us our own room when we traveled and stayed in hotels so 2 adults, 3 kids - 2 queens. My sister usually got a bed to herself, my brother slept on the floor and I took up residence in the bathtub :) Padded a little by the comforter from both beds but that's pretty much it.

Abby has been known to nap on 2 quilts folded into a little pallet on the floor.

  • We use a tent with a thin air mattress for Colton.  He loves it.  Here is a link to it https://tinyurl.com/3a4hu5e
  • I guess I'm also nervous about putting her in something that's not the pnp because she's still in her crib at home and don't know how she'll do. But I guess she does sleep on a mat at daycare so that's a good suggestion too Taytee. Thanks!

  • We have the one Taffy linked... we love it. DD is a crazy sleeper and we wanted something to contain her.  She really likes it - and sleeps better on it than she does when in bed with us ... it's super easy to inflate and deflate and is fairly portable (it has it's own bag - we put it in our car seat bag with the car seat when we fly).

Both sets of grandparents have this one too and she loves it. My friend has one that you can zip them into as well, and her daughter likes that one too.

  • I saw them at Costco too, just did tonight.  I think they were around $45-$50  A friend has them for her two little ones and they seem to work out great for them.
