If your child was a groaner while they slept come in

Being a mother is so complicated. If your child is a groaner / moaner when do you go get them at night? Olivia groans ALOT and will let out a little cry every now and then. She can groan and moan up to HOURS before her eyes are open. I feel bad just letting her fidget in there and move around but it looks like her eyes are closed. When she was in our room it was easy for me to roll over and check and her eyes were always shut. She only let out a huge cry once we picked her up and changed her diaper and then she realized she was hungry. I guess my question is do I wait until she cries or do I go get her after a couple of hours of groaning and moaning. I just don't know how she sleeps through that because I sure cant.

  • Collin does this all night long!  DH says he is for sure my child b/c apparently I make noises in my sleep too.

I just turn the monitor down so that the groaning and squeaking I can barley hear - but I will still hear a big, loud cry.

This.  I don't get them unless they are really crying (and usually I make sure their eyes are open). I figure I wouldn't want to be woken up if I was groaning while sleeping, so why would they?  Big Smile

We had to move her out of our room in under 2 weeks old because she was SO LOUD....  She still moans and groans...  We only attend to her with a full out cry

  • Landry is so noisy. I have a rating... I don't get out of bed for a "single" or "double." Only a "triple" cry - she'll often wail (single), take a breath and wail again (double), and then that's usually it. But if she wails once more, then she's awake and needs something.

We're moving her back to her room this weekend. She has been in our room mostly since we moved into the new house but I can't take all the grunting and groaning!

  • Thanks ladies. Tonight I'm going to sleep with the monitor on low and keep her door open while I sleep in the game room so I can hear her if she starts crying loud. I told DH everyone's advice and his comment was, man she probably could sleep until 8 if we didn't wake her. Yeah now I feel bad. I guess it bothers me WAY more than it bothers her!

Get your sleep, Momma!  C started squeaking this morning at 5:30am ... and didn't wake up until 9:15!  I kept putting off pumping and getting dressed, etc. b/c I thought for sure any minute now he would wake up.  They are crazy with their little noises!
