LO might be breech :(

I went to my 36-week appt today, and my OB did the Strep B test and an internal exam. (Just some background-when I had my 20 week ultrasound, LO was in the head down position. I also had to have another ultrasound at 25 weeks, because of decreased fetal movement, but LO was still head down). My OB said that she can't feel the head, and she thinks the baby might be breech. I was feeling hardcore, crazy movements from baby on Saturday night, and I had no idea what was going on. She said it's possible the baby was doing flips and turned him/herself around, but she wants to do an ultrasound just to be sure.

I'm trying not to freak out, because even if LO is breech she said there are many options we can try before I have to have a C-section...but ugh. I've heard so many people say that once baby is in a head-down position, they rarely move up. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, were you able to get your baby in a head down position again? Any input/stories would be appreciated.

TIA ladies!

  • She could be wrong. At my 36 week appointment the doc thought our baby had flipped to breech; we did a position u/s at 37 weeks and she was head down. GL!

giggle snort!  That only works briefly - LO WILL turn back around & you will have to yell at him/her.
