I've never heard of the bloodwork predicting gender.
Some techs will guess at the scan, but I wouldn't put much stock in it that early. Closer to 16 weeks, you have a much better shot of the guess being right. My tech just laughed and said "no way am I guessing this early."
I just learned tonight that apparently in the Houston area they are doing b/w that can tell with 98% accuracy. I think it's not more widespread because it's relatively new and maybe controversial? Anyway, here is a link for info:
I did the jack and jill gender blood test at my NT scan. Im pretty sure the place i went is one of the only places to do this test.
This. I had it done (for free along with the NT test) in Houston as well. My OB said its never been wrong for any of her patients. All of our ultrasounds have been consistent with the blood test.
Yeah it's not the actual NT scan and b/w that gives the gender. It's another blood test altogether. I've heard about it and think there are only a few places that do it. I see you are in Tx and I also heard about one in Houston. Not sure if there are any other places in Tx.

We found out from the ultrasound during our NT test....the same perinatal specialist scanned me at 12 weeks with both of our previous pregnancies, and never ventured a guess (and we have never asked). But this time he said "wow, getting some great shots, do you want me to tell you what I think?" He said he was 80% confident....went back at 20 weeks and he was correct

I have randomly heard that you can determine the sex through some sort of genetic blood work. What the blood work is, I have no idea.

ETA: Sorry, didn't see this was about the b/w not the u/s. Unless there was a CVS or amnio done, I don't see how a blood test could find out the sex
