Toddler serving sizes

I found the serving size info the doctor gave me: (Disclaimer: They gave me this as just a general guideline so I could see that she's getting something from each of the food groups over a period of days and to try to have a "goal" to get her to. Also they don't have a food pyramid for kids under 2 years old so you just have to use your best judgment)

To get your child's exact caloric intake # you convert lbs into Kgs (divide weight in lbs by 2.2) Multiply this by 82 and that is your child's recommended intake of calories for the day.

Examples of serving sizes:

1 serving of meat = 4 marbles  (Based on the food pyramid recommended is 2 servings a day so your child should eat 8 marbles of meat a day.)

1 serving fruits/veggies = 3 dominoes

1 serving cooked pasta/rice = a ping pong ball (or 1 serving of bread = 1/4 a slice)

1 serving cheese = 2 dice

1 serving juice = 1 shot glass

OR: A toddler serving size is 1/4 of an adult serving size. (So an adult eats 1cup of cereal, a toddler would have 1/4 a cup)

I hope nobody starts worrying after reading this! I just wanted to show you guys a good idea of serving portions. Toddlers are picky, that's just how they are. I'll bet you don't meet up to the food pyramid yourself some days and typically kids will make up for their eating over a few days time.
