Trying to Get Pregnant

I look like a road map.

I don't even know where to start this post (I'm new)...

I am almost certain I know when I ovulated, which was a mere four days ago.  I know we were, um, rather active, around that time.

And yet, today, for no apparent reason, I look like a road map.  My chest is both enormous and veiny (and grody!).  I am normally flat-chested, so the change is... significant.  I used to be on the pill until just recently, so I can't say this is "normal" PMS, because I don't really know what PMS is.  That said, I think this is early for PMS, no?

Is this... what... the Pill playing one last nasty trick? Could it be PMS this early? Could it be -- gasp! -- an elusive symptom of pregnancy at -- literally -- only 4 or 5 days after ovulation?

My "chart," despite the pill, is picture perfect so far.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for help.

Re: I look like a road map.

  • Can you link your chart?
  • Sex. Own it. Embrace the term. It's okay, I promise.

The general rule is that if you're pregnant enough to have symptoms you're pregnant enough to turn a test positive. I would probably test anyway just in case you're off on your ovulation date. If you are really 4 DPO then I highly doubt you're showing symptoms.

I can tell you that my temps went like this:

Day 1 (the first day of placebo of pill, when I should have had AF): 97.10

    Day 2: 97.10

    Day 3: 97.29

    Day 4: 97.33

    Day 5: 97.33

    Day 6: 97.20

Day 7: 97.05 (*I had about two hours of sleep! don't judge, my in-laws are tough -- LOL)

    Day 8: 97.10

    Day 9: 97.18

    Day 10: 97.10

    Day 11: 97.20

Day 12: 97.18 (this was Thanksgiving)

    Day 13: 97.20

    Day 14: 97.20

    Day 15: 96.80

    Day 16: 97.90

    Day 17: 97.86

Day 18 (this is today): 97.86

It sounds all jibbly, but it looks very pretty on my phone!

I just want to stick ice packs in my bra and be down with it.  Of course, I have to buy a bra that FITS first, but you get the idea.

    thanks again.

  • My veins (chest, arms, etc.) are always WAY MORE noticeable after O and especially when I am very close to getting my period.  Never realized it until we started TTC.

  • Your body produces more progesterone after O, whether you're KU or not. That's why PMS symptoms and Pregnancy Symptoms are so similar.

You really can't tell if they're pregnancy symptoms until AFTER you get a +HPT. Until then, they're phantom symptoms and could go either way.

weird.  I mean, not like judgy weird about you, but weird this happens in general.  I bet that's what happening here.  I never knew how much crap was out there in the world of web until I started looking into this.  (edit: meaning on other websites -- particularly out of the UK -- not here... that came out wrong.  sorry!)

Does it go away before your AF shows up or does it hurt this much and look this icky alllll the way through?  (If that is too personal, don't bother to answer, sorry.)

    thanks very much!

  • By that it looks like you are only 3 DPO since you have only had 3 high temps.

Enter those temps into fertilityfriend.com (Click on my siggy)  Its a lot easier to link that here =)

But no you wouldn't be showing pregnancy signs.  But when you are TTC you start noticing the most RANDOM things.

Mmm..usually it's the sides of my boobs that hurt but the pain and the more noticeable veins let up a day or so after my period starts.  Then I get about two weeks of relief until it starts again, lol.

    LMAO.

No... I just... I'm new.  I figured it was better to tread lightly.

At what day does PMS normally start? 21? Is that about "normal" for most people?

good to know... sucks to be me, but good to know.  I better settle in.

    thanks so much.

  • You went off BCPs recently, right? So you don't know your normal. And it may take you 6-12 months to get "normal." I think most ladies experience PMS 3-4 days before their period starts. I suspects you're only 3DPO, so you may not have symptoms for as many as 10 more days. Everyone is different, you can't go by when I start PMSing. I'm barely ovulating at CD21.

I hope it doesn't take that long, because... I'm not very patient.   I've been kinda banking on having a baseline average in a few weeks! hahaha.  whooops.

    thanks for the help!!

    have a great evening.

Careful how you tread. My 35 day cycles aren't long compared to somegirls. There's not a lot of patience for impatience on this board. Be mindful, compassionate, and thoughtful when it comes to that stuff. Never bank on anything when it comes to trying to conceive.

that's fair.  I'll keep it in mind moving forward.

I would be very careful talking like that on this board.  There are a lot of ladies who have been trying for a while.  It can take a very healthy couple a year to conceive.  I am sure everyone on this board feels impatient, and hopes it does not take long.  I am pretty sure that anyone who is TTC wants it to happen right away!  I would read the newbie link, and like pp said, join FF.  It took my body about 3-4 cycles to regulate, but even then, one can still have a wonky cycle.
