Aplix snagging diapers?

I ordered the buy 10 get 2 free BG 4.0 on Black Friday in all snaps. I just got them today and they sent me 11 snaps and 1 aplix. I really don't want aplix because I dont want them snagging my other diapers. I don't have experience with this, I have just heard about it. Do you have much snagging with your aplix diapers? I don't know what to do with this diaper.. !

Re: Aplix snagging diapers?

  • Not really. Some of my Kawaii's don't have laundry tabs, and some of the laundry tabs on my older BG's are pretty shot, so the tabs on those do tend to come undone in the wash. But even when they do, they generally just end up sticking to the velcro strip in the front, so it's not a big deal. Some of them have a little bit of pilliness on the PUL from where the aplix snagged, but they still work fine.

Also, the laundry tabs on my newer BG 4.0's seem to be MUCH better than the older-style laundry tabs. I never have snag issues with them. (Unless MIL forgets to fasten the laundry tabs, but that's hardly the diaper's fault!)

If I were you, I'd try out the aplix diaper. When I first started CD'ing, I thought I'd want only snapping diapers, but I've found that I really love aplix. Aplix is SO much easier to fasten, and the fit is SO much better. Whenever someone else watches DS, I always leave them aplix diapers, because they're much less intimidating to someone not familiar with CD'ing.

But if you don't want to try it out, I'm sure Cotton Babies would take it back, since it was their mistake.

  • I have this issue with some of my aplix thirsties covers. I am in the process of changing my entire stash to snaps.

I actually feel that I get a better fit with snaps rather than aplix.

I ordered from Bippy diapers. There are only blossom ones left now. I wish I would've known that the diapers available to order were not actually available! Irritates me. I also got another color I didnt order. I don't want to pay for shipping to trade. oh well.. I'm just going to keep in in the closet until I figure out what I want to do..

  • I'm not sure about BG aplix but the aplix on my RaR never snags. It stays on the tab. I prefer aplix on pockets because I get a better fit.

If you really think you are not going to like it you can try selling or trading.

  • It is really not a big deal. The BG laundry tabs work awesome compared to  other diapers. The ones that suck really only snag  on other velcro pieces on the other diapers. Since you only have snaps, it won't be a problem I'm sure. I agree with PP in that I love aplix much more than snaps. So much easier to use on a wiggly 8 month old. Give it a try or sell the diaper.

  • I only have thirstie duo wraps so far, but I like aplix more than snaps. If you haven't tried them, you should give them a whirl. I thought I'd like snaps more, too, but they take longer to do, and the fit isn't quite as good -- aplix I can get the perfect fit whereas with snaps I can only approximate. Use the laundry tabs -- I've never had a problem in the wash.

I think people only have problems with diapers that DON'T have laundry tabs or if they forget to do them.
