Bedtime Routine

DH and I never really had a bedtime routine with the twins, as we worked crazy shifts and no two nights were the same.  Now that our schedules have evened out and we are both home in the evenings we'd like to start a routine with the duo.  Bedtime currently consists of a new diaper, jammies and bottle in their crib, which I want to move away from.

What is your bedtime routine like?

We used to do a bath every night since DD wouldn't go down without one, but she's gotten away from that. So, on bath nights it's: bath, pj's, snack while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, then bed. Non-bath nights is the same except for the bath part (obviously).

dinner, play (if not a bath night)/bath,  brush teeth and wash face, and then new diaper and pj's....and then book/glow worm and then to bed with blankie, rain sound on with projector.

We go upstairs around 7 and bring them into our room.  Then we rinse them off (if not bath night) and put them in their pajamas.  Then I brush their teeth.  We read a story and then let them play with a book for a little and then right into their crib.

We usually let them watch some sprout before we go upstairs to help wind them down.

Arrive home, Dinner, bath if needed, diaper & jammies, play for a bit, then crib. E has never gotten a bottle in bed, and she goes down very easily so we are lucky.

We get jammies on, read Goodnight Moon, and put on Sprout TV. The Pajanamals song really gets her calmed down and ready to sleep. Lils' bedtime is at 9 and this song plays around 850-855

If you are truly oposed to any TV or you have a different bedtime you can youtube it and just have the song playing- it's a really nice bedtime song

Bath then brush/floss, get dressed. Then we read a story, say a prayer and she goes down.

The whole process is 20-30 minutes and usually is finished by 7:15.

At 7:30 we watch a half hour or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, @ 8:00 we go upstairs for a bath (if it's bath night), then new diaper, jammies, and read 2 stories and he gets his sippy cup of milk. The lullabye CD starts and to his crib he goes. He's asleep by 8:30.
