DH and I usually cut a tree and yes I am over the top and I have a fake one in another room...... Well, this year with baby on the way, I didn't want to take the chance of DH not having time to cut one this year so I'm taking the easy road out and put our fake one in our great room. I think DH is a little upset but I want to bring baby home to a tree and I don't want to think of the clean up of a real one once she's home. This is usually my job anyway. Also, I'll put some of my things up but probably not everything since I gotta take it all down at the end.....again my job.....
Anyone else doing less decorating this year?
Re: Who's making Xmas decorating easier?
this is me, exactly. I'll just revel extra in everybody else's decorations this year and over do it next year
omg is it bad that I almost started an actual list? so far I'm thinking popcorn and cranberry string (I do that every year, anyway), gingerbread house, Christmas pajamas, stockings on Christmas Eve... honestly I never really considered pictures with Santa because I never did that when I was little and I never really missed it. I guess when he's old enough to understand and if he asks to go I'd take him.. but I'll have enough traditions to keep us busy
Not I. Our house is fully decked and I love love love it. I love decorating for Christmas way too much, that I would have been really sad had we (well, I) not done it.
Now...when the decorations will come down is a whoooooooole other story. I fear we'll still be singing O Christmas Tree around Valentine's day.

The spectactular life of SpankyMcLaaLaa
We put up the tree and I finally got it decorated last night, though I left a BUNCH of ornaments off. I basically did the glass ornaments and a few sentimental ones.
We won't do any other decorating except putting candles in the windows (they have timers, so once you set them, they go on and off by themselves all season) and two little lighted trees outside our door. That's it. Nothing else.
I am sort of doing less this year. I put up a fake tree instead of a live one because of the fire hazard since we're putting it up so early and may not be home for a few days while in the hospital.
I also didn't put lights up anywhere but the tree, usually I put them in our window boxes and weave them through garland on the stairs and all of that stuff but I can't really bend over to plug them in so I figured it wasn't worth it.
I will really go nuts next year, I'm sure!
