acidic urine causing stink issues?

Could DS's urine just be stinky? Right when his prefolds are peed on they stink. Tried every suggestion out there, except the fish bowl ammonia cleaner.

if your cloth is old you might want to wash them with some baking soda, or run through the washer on the hottest cycle without any detergent... All detergents cause buildup over time (some take longer than others) so "stripping" them can usually get rid of the buildup, and the smell... HTH!

I've tried stripping with Dawn twice..it got rid of the fishy smell but not the ammonia.

GMD prefolds.

have you tried baking soda in the wash, or boiling them for 30 min?  We use the gcloth, so I don't know if they would "strip" the same way as yours... GL!

I've stripped in extremely hot water, but not boiling. Maybe I'll add a pot of boiling water next time. I also just read about sprinkling baking soda on diapers between washes and in the wash. 

I will try these things and hopefully it will help. Thank you so much for your suggestions!!
