Long story short, I wasn't planning on buying a crib because my MIL was giving me one... which I just found out is not only missing a part but was also RECALLED....
in 2007.
I'm going to TRY to return it to Wal-Mart, but with no receipt and after all this time, we'll see.
Anyway, now I have to spend money that I didn't have in the budget. Which less expensive brands are still pretty great? Graco, I'm sure, is fine... but what about Baby Relax, Delta, Storkcraft, and others like that?
TIA!
Re: Rec. your Bargain Crib ($200.00 or less!)
this is what I was going to suggest as well - baby bargains also ranked it fairly high.
We got this https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3636496
Then it was out of stock for #2 and we got this as our 2nd crib https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3638951
We have this one and LOVE it- great quality for the price!

We got ours at BRU- I didn't even know that walmart carried it. But for $129- that is an awesome deal!
Ditto this
My SIL has a crib from 5 or 6 years ago that was recalled and originally purchased at Walmart. She just took it in a few weeks ago and they gave her store credit of $150 to use towards a new crib.
This is what I have; it's really sturdy!!! DO NOT buy the IKEA mattress, though. A standard foam or coil mattress is best. We're getting an inexpensive foam one from Wal-Mart.

Another vote.
Walmart is generally really good about giving refunds for recalled cribs even when you do not have a reciept, so you may luck out and get a credit or refund for your recalled crib.
JCpenneys had several cribs in the $200.00 range and you can save an additional 15% right now by entering the promo code PCNKSGJC at check out. If you sign up for ebates https://tinyurl.com/27opjk2 and enter the JCPenneys site though ebates you will get an additional 6% cashback. In addition JCpenneys is offering free site to store shipping right now.
This is one example of cribs offered by penneys at this price:

Ladies,
Thank you SO much! Your input definitely helped me make a decision. I'm getting the Graco Lauren -- in either Walnut or White. (Still debating.)
The best news is that Wal-Mart took the recalled crib back and we now have a store credit of $120.00 to use toward the crib... with my MIL's blessing, since she was the one who purchased it five years ago. (I'm sure she paid more, but considering the recall was in 2007 I am NOT complaining!)
Thanks again for all your suggestions.
