DD has not pooped in close to 2.5 days. Last time was over night from Fri-Sat around 2am.
She just switched from Nutramigen to Alimentum, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
We tried taking her tempurature this morning. still no poop. The thermometer came out clean as well, so not like she has any waiting either.
When do I call the doctor, what can I do?
Re: constipation help
They're only constipated if the poop is hard. If they're just going less frequently, it's not constipation.
But anyway, it's normal. DD went from 4-5 dirty diapers a day to only going once every other day right at about a month, and she was still EBF at that point. Doc said it's totally normal, and that some babies only go once a week.
Just got back from Sam's doctor's appointment and I mentioned how he was straining a lot to poop and seemed to have difficulty. She suggested 1oz of 1/2oz Gerbers Apple Prune juice mixed with 1/2 oz of water and that we could give this to him once a day. She also said if he is pooping little hard "pellets" we could do half of a pediatric glycerin suppository (sp?). We found them in the pharmacy aisle at Target but I haven't done that yet.
Glycerin suppository! That's what we gave him
