Random sleep observation - anyone else?

Has anyone else noticed with their LO's that what they have to do to get LO to sleep changes every few months.  This weekend I was looking at babysitting instructions we had up on the fridge and saw that they were from the time when I used to sing to DS while he was in his crib.  That stopped working quite awhile ago!  Even in the last week, we've stopped the ritual of kissing his animals goodnight.  The overall pattern is very close to what it was originally, but some of the details have to be adjusted every few months.  Ah, babies!!

Marissa is only 3 months and hers has changed several times already.  The only thing that has stayed consistent is her bedtime.

Same here.  Every time we think we have it down he goes and throws us a curve ball.

Any time anything sleep-related starts to seem like it works almost reliably, I know it's about to not work at all and I'm going to have to try something new or get ready for a nap time change.
