sizing ? about newborns and prefolds...

i'm about to order some prefolds for baby #2 since cottonbabies is having a sale... we didn't cd ds until he was 6 months old so i just wanted to double check that i could use the premium size on a newborn.... i know it will be a lot more bulky though.  or should i get a couple doz infant size too?

I would get some infant ones - I think the large size would be WAY too big on an infant. Even with the infant size, I was folding them down a little in the beginning and since the poo is really runny you don't want any gaps due to the bulk - it might leak out without the gaps sometimes, so with gaps it would likely pour out I'd imagine..  I think she was 4 or 5 months before I started using the bigger size and she's always been 90-95% for height.

They would be seriously massive on a newborn.  Personally I couldn't stomach that much bulk.  I used GMD prefolds and loved that they are more specifically sized, but even if you don't go that route you'll want some infant prefolds to start with.

I would go with infant.  They were big on Marissa for awhile and she is almost 3 months old and they still fit her.

thanks for the input!  i did end up buying 3 doz infant sized and 3 doz more premium sized, so now i just need to get some newborn covers and i think i'll be good to go!!!!  ahhh so excited!
