Trying to Get Pregnant

anyone else gain weight going OFF BCP?? :)

okay..so..maybe im crazy but i SWEAR i've noticed that I have gained weight off the pill...i was 105 before starting and now im 110 (its been 3 wks since going off bcp)..im 5'1..i know, i know..thats not a huge difference, but i am really petite so ANY weight gain shows on my frame..im not vain LOL..just asking cause the DH and i are going on a cruise to mexico in JAN and i want to tone up my lil tummy/pooch and thighs for the bikini..but with TTC i dont want to over do it

have u noticed weight gain going off BCP OR can you offer advice? should i make a plan to work out and tone up OR just go with the flow and leave the extra weight for a possible BFP eventually?....thanks girls! :)

  • I've actually lost 7 lbs since coming off BCP in September. I'm about the same build as you, I've really lost my appetite. I'm not complaining though Big Smile

  • ugh yes - i've gained weight.  AND my skin is horrible now!!  i never have any skin problems and now I'm having to pull myself away from the mirror so I don't pick at my face.

  • I LOST about 20lbs after going off BCP, but that was diet/exercise related as well. But really... you're 110 lbs and I have no sympathy for you, I'm sorry!!!

  • I was on the pill (yaz and loestrin 24 fe) for a year and a half and lost 25 lbs (without diet and exercise), and have gained about 5-6 lbs in the past 3 weeks since coming off the pill.

This also may have something to do with the seemingly permanent PMS I've had ever since. No bleeding at ALL since coming off the pill, but lots of bloat and cramps.

    Everyone is different!

  • I gained about 10 lbs in the past 6 months.  And I had to go back to the facewash I used in high school!  Hello breakouts!

  • I'm your same height, and based on TTC you want to be in a healthy BMI index.  I think 5"1 105lbs actually would make it harder to TTC.  Check your BMI range for your height and you should fall somewhere in the middle for optimum ease in TTC.

I gained weight coming off of nuva ring too, but I think that also had to do with my DH being done with school and being around more to negatively impact my exercise!
