I am still asking here-cd insert question

So how do you know when to get new inserts? the majority of our diapers are BG 3.0's and I bought pretty much most of them used. Just wondering how I know if and when I need to get new inserts. We used them from about a year with Addy and will use them through another baby so I just wondered...

  • no need to get new inserts, unless they stink so bad from ammonia that it can't be fixed.

  • yeah, i don't see a reason to get new ones unless you just want to upgrade or for double stuffing.

just think of it like when you should get new towels.

  • I can't imagine needing to replace unless, like pp said, they stunk beyond repair.

If you happen to want more, I have a ton that have never been used that I would love to get rid of for a cheap price!

  • I have a couple of diapers with really super duper old microfiber inserts. They smell kind of funky - not like ammonia or poop. I can't really pinpoint it. Right around the time they started stinking they started holding less. They don't repel. The capacity is just diminished. I ended up getting new inserts. From my calculations those inserts were used heavily for 3-4 years.
  • I've read that the less fluffier they are, the less they'll absorb so if they're really old and flat and not absorbing anymore you may want to consider getting new ones but I would think it would take quite a while to get to that point.
