Hi everyone,
A couple of questions for you:
1) What do you think of the name "Adaline"? It's my great aunt's name (although that's not a big deal - she died before I was born, and, for all I know, she could have been a major biznatch), and I've always thought it was a beautiful name. Do you think most people will be able to pronounce it when the see it written and spell it if they hear it? My husband thinks it sounds too much like "alkaline." Is he crazy, or am I?
2) We both love the nickname Addie, which would work well for Adaline. Any other ideas as to how to get to that nickname, though? I HATE HATE HATE Addison (sorry if that's your kid's name), and my husband isn't a fan of Adrienne (he always quotes "Rocky" when I suggest it). Any other ideas are welcome, though.
Thanks ladies!
Re: Adaline? (And a nickname question)
1 I think Adaline is adorable.
2. You could also get to Addie via Adele, Adella, Ada, or Adia. I think they are all great names. I think there will be tons of little Addies though, with all of the Addisons, and also tons of Maddies with Madison and Madeline.
I love it. I like it spelled Adeline, but if it is a family name I would stick to the spelling your great aunt used.
Another name would be Adelaide, also gorgeous.
1. Adeline is a GORGEOUS name! One of my favorites.
2. Adele or Adela is my favorite Ad- name. I am with you on the other names. I hate Addison and I really hate Adrienne.

I adore Adaline! I think it's so pretty and quaint, and if it's a family name---even better!
I'm also a big fan of Addie as a NN. My favorite name that works with this as a NN is Adelaide.
