December 2010 Moms

Game: You know you hang out on the Bump too much when.....

You know you hang out on the Bump too much when..... you start having dreams about certain bumpies but instead of faces they look like their siggys.

Brit08, I had a dream you had your baby, but since I don't know what you look like your face was the picture you have for the MP challenge.

  • Your water breaks and your *almost* first thought is "I don't have enough time to tell the Dec mamas!!" yep...totally had that thought as we had to rush out the door at 6am last Sunday!

  • When you start thinking in Bump abbreviations.  Ironically, I don't even use them much on here.  But IRL I think DH, LO, etc.

Ha!  That's exactly what I was thinking.  I tend to almost use NBR or DH.  Smile

this was mine!!  I start thinking of Johnny as my H and I've accidentally referred to the baby as "little one" which tends to weird people out hahaha.

  • You ask close family and friends certain pregnancy/labor related questions and you use the abbreviations like BH and MP.

  • After having sex (which you're only doing to soften your cervix) you wait what you feel is an appropriate amount of time, and then reach for your laptop.

  • That is hilarious Loves. I feel very special. His (my siggy pic) name is goober btw.

I know I hang out on the bump to much when... M knew that I posted about our sexytime this morning without even reading my post.

  • When your bump life has made it to IRL small talk. My H will ask all the time "So what is going on with the bumpees today?"

I do this too! I have almost called DH "DH" but stopped myself, he would have no idea what I was saying, and would think I was nuts!

  • These are good!

Mine is when I start referring to you ladies as friends in my IRL conversations. As in,

ME: "My friend _____ mentioned something about packing her hospital bag the other day..."

    DH: "Oh yeah? Which friend?"

ME: "I mean, a lady on my board..."

    This is exactly me too!

I sometimes actually think the letters "W.T.F." instead of "What the F*#@"

Yep, DH always needs clarification, or if it has to do with pregnancy, he just automatically assumes bump friend.

My H asked me what DH stood for. He figured it stood for d!ckhead. (only when appropriate, right?). :)

I had a strange dream last night--can't remember now about what, but when I woke up (at 2:00am to pee), I KNEW that I dreamed that because I was bumpin' right before bed last night. :)

  • I don't have a good example, but I'm pretty sure my use of the bump officially qualifies as an addiction...

    1. You neglect responsibilities in order to fulfill the addiction.

    2. You think about doing it when you're not.

    3. You find ways to integrate your addiction into your life so you don't have to be without it. Typically, family and friends don't understand.

    4. You abandon activities you used to enjoy to fulfill the addiction.

(From my old psych text book)

I think it does qualify as an addiction. Like last night, we went to a friends house one last time for game night and all I could think about was how much I'd rather be bumping and chatting with you guys. LAME

I do this when I am writing a blog post or an email, I have to catch myself and then I find myself thinking in abbreviated terms. :)
