I obviously love Emmeline . It is my DD's name. I love it because it is an old name and it is never used, so she won't be one of 5 Emmelines in her class growing up. I also think Emilia is pretty, but I prefer Emmeline.
I love Emmeline. I prefer the leen pronunciation since that's the French pronunciation, but line is pretty too. It's one of our top contenders (with potential nn of Millie). I like it better because it eliminates the MEAL part of Emilia which I don't care for (even though I think Emilia looks so lovely written).
This is our daughter's name, and we love it of course. It's an E name not in the top 1000 and has French ties which makes me happy. We pronounce it Emme LIEN, but the correct, French pronunciation is Emme LEEN. (Think Josephine). I just tell people we used the American, bastardized pronunciation...I've only met one person who met enough Emmelines to know the correct way to say it.
I still like Emilia though, and I can see going either way.
Re: Emmeline

I really like both, but I think Emmeline is "closer" to Emily (assuming you use the "--leen" pronunciation).
Both are lovely choices, but I give the slight advantage to Emmeline. It's just so feminine and girly!
Me too. DD is "line" although we've heard "leen" from a few people.
