Netbooks

If you have one, do you like it?  What model is it?

I brought 3 home for work to test over the 4 day weekend.  We might deploy them next year for various tasks.  I have an Acer, ASUS and an HP. I was hoping to get a Toshiba to bring home as well, but it's on back order.

  • What do you do, P, that you get to take netbooks home?

I don't have a netbook, but I use my dad's whenever I visit them.  It's too small for my sausage-y fingers, and I strain to look at the screen.  I need something much bigger for everyday use, but it would be nice/convenient to have a netbook if that was my only option for being mobile.

  • My mom loves hers....perfect size for mobility; easier to type on than the ipad, which I have. Less money than the ipad as well.
  • OC - I work in IT for a college.  The HP I've got has a raised keyboard which I didn't like at first, but the longer I used it, the more I liked it.  It's so easy to type.

The Acer I'm on now is OK, but I've hit the backsapce too many times in this reply.  All the keys are super close to each other making it harder to type efficiently.

I would pay ~$300 for a netbook long before paying $500-$600 for an iPad.

Seriously! While I can nest and FB and tweet from my phone, I am shopping impaired and can't accept my farmville gifts :
  • I would cry if I were on bedrest and had to do all of my internetting on the phone.

    Dislike agreed.

Pmarie - yes I think my dad has an acer!  The keys are so itty bitty.
