Storage Needs

I am wondering how much storage baby really needs in the nursery.  There is a large closet in the bedroom with 3 rods and 6 shelves which I think will store a lot of the clothes.  We also have a three drawer dresser in the room.  There is the option to have a second 3 drawer dresser or have an 8 cube open storage unit.

My thinking is the storage unit can hold books, toys, a lamp, stuffed animal etc.  But do I need to have two dressers instead?

I like your idea about 1 dresser and 1 storage unit. We have a 5 drawer dresser and a small closet with only 1 bar and wish we had room for more - just with clothes alone (1 drawer for socks, hats, misc; 1 for onesies, 1 for sleepers, 1 for shirts and pants and 1 for blankets) we have our dresser filled to the brim and a bunch of things hanging in the closet too.

I guess the Malm is a little on the smaller side for a dresser but I think I would still go with the Expedit over a second dresser for all of the reasons you noted.  You can always put extra clothes in a basket in the Malm.  We almost got another Expedit for the LO's room but ended up going with a unti our of the new Stuva collection.  We would have had to put the Expedit vertically and didn't think it felt quite as stable.  (If we could have fit it in the other way though, definitely the way to go.)  We really like the Stuva though because you can customize it with shelves and drawers and add on extra pieces later (like when we move to a bigger place!).

I just realized my dresser is "Medium Brown" and the Expedit doesn't come in that colour.  Ugh!  The crib is also a medium brown tone.  Now I'm not sure if I should get the Expedit in black/brown or if I should get a smaller bookcase in medium brown.
