FIL that is! ![]()
Since day one FIL has been very vocal and disapproving of me EBF. He was ok with it for the first few weeks (didn't like it but could handle it). After about 6wks he got much more vocal and kept on & on & on about how it isn't healthy after awhile and DD wouldn't get the nutrition she needed as she grows if I don't supplement. Apparently my body just switches to making water......who knew?! We tried to show him the research, but nothing could change his mind so we just decided to keep quiet and ignore it.
Once DD turned 4 months he seemed to be relieved because now we could start solids and give DD "proper nutrition". We just kept our mouths shut about waiting until 6+ months and doing BLW. He has had it in his head that she has been on solids for about 2 months. Yesterday he came over for T-day and couldn't stop talking about how healthy DD looked and how much she has grown. He kept commenting on how she now has cute little baby rolls and seems to be doing "so good".
When we sat down to eat he asked where DDs food was and that was when DH looked at him and said that she didn't eat solids....not for another 1+ month.....she is still 100% on mommy milk.
The look was priceless....priceless! I kept stuffing my face to keep from laughing!
He hasn't said a damn thing since! hehehehe!
Re: Well that shut him up!
me, neither. you're a better woman than i am :-)
It was hard! I almost couldn't swallow because I had stuffed so much in!
WOW. Sometimes I wonder what people think women did in the days before formula.
This! How on earth did the human race survive before we had cans of formula to "properly" feed our babies?! Based on OP's FIL's information we all should have died out eons ago..
OP, I could have written this same thing about my ILs. I can't wait til we have a moment like that where I can finally stick it to em'!
Good Luck!
It was seriously the highlight of my week! I just loved that he couldn't say anything b/c he had been going on about how great DD was doing!
I love it! Great job showing your FIL how healthy EBF babies can be!
