Kicked the crap outta some turkey. ?Our first time hosting, first time cooking a turkey EVER.... ?even the made up on the fly recipes came out fab. ?'twas a good day :-)
Last night - hauled my ass to TRU at 11pm, stood in the 28 degree wind for an hour, waited in line for 2 hours to check out. ?Got 90% of christmas shopping done.
Today - Sam got treated to Tangled with her teen cousins. ?Loved it. ?Mama took a big damn nap, as she didn't get home til 3am.
Bring on the fat elf and the snow. ?
Re: *cracks knuckles* one holiday down. Who's next??!!
Go Kori, go Kori, go go go Kori
When you're done come help me! I have barely started getting ready for Christmas.
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving & got your shopping done.
We also like Tangled; it was pretty cute!
Awesome!
What were your invented recipes?
I was in line at TRU at 9 and froze my arse off. i will be done with DD when I get the stupid Mittens Lalaloopsy doll
We have Christmas lights on out front and brought up the stockings. We are going to get a real tree this year, but I am not doing any decorating with the old lady here at the house. She hates Christmas and I'm not going to let her steal my joy!
Other than that, I am totally in the Christmas spirit.
Bek - boo hiss on the old bat. ?
Stuffed mushrooms, I lost the recipe so I made it up (chopped & sauteed the stems, chopped spinach, 2 cloves garlic in butter. ?Added about 1cup chicken broth and 1box stove top, and about 1/4 cup grated asiago. ?Sauteed the mushroom caps in butter & garlic, stuffed & baked for about 15min at 350)
Sweet potatoes - DH did those, I have no idea. ?It involved vanilla, brown sugar, white sugar, milk, butter.. ? ?Dunno but everyone wanted the recipe. ?I'm not sure he followed one.
Dressing - we went easy & cheap, did 4 boxes of stovetop but I did 2c water and 2c apple juice to cook it in, added 1/2c dried cranberries.
