I'm still trying to decide whether it would be better to use cloth or disposable. I'm more concerned about cost than environmental issues, but I think that not filling a landfill with my baby's poopies is an added plus. I've had friends that tried them and hated them, and others that swear by them. I need some advice. And then, where do I begin? I don't know the first thing about any of this.....

Re: Newbie question
I'm just starting out in all this, but I can tell you that so far my experience with cloth has been WAY better than disposables. I've had way fewer leaks and blowouts, and that alone is good enough reason for me to switch! We made the switch due to cost and environmental factors, like you were saying.
To get started, I would begin with a cloth diaper trial. If you google it, you'll find tons...we went with Jillian's Drawers and so far it's been great! I got an idea for what types of CDs I like, and I took advantage of the black Friday sales to build my stash. I also learned a lot by lurking on this board. There's a link to some FAQs that one of the ladies on here will probably share with you, and that's a great place to start. Good luck!
This will probably help.
