Reflux issues - how long?

DS is 6 mo (3 corrected) and has been on Rinitadine for 2 mo.  He sleeps semi-reclined, and still spits up during the day.  He's very squirmy and fussy and cries a lot.  How long was LO on meds?  How long til they were over their reflux?  Thanks!

  • pedi told me not to expect her to outgrow reflux before 6 months adjusted. we also had to put her on prevacid in addition to zantac.

  • DD is about 18 months old & still having issues with reflux & is still on meds.  hang in there.
  • Just recently took DS off Prevacid-he turned 2 in June (he should have been born in September). He threw up a lot when he was a baby, but he definitely got a lot better after he started eating more solids. He would still cough and he had to eat slower than "normal" when he started on solids. We tried to ween him off at about 18 months and his coughs increased so we stopped trying to do that and started again about a month ago and he has not shown any signs of needing it again.

Good luck! I hope it gets better soon.

  • DD was on Zantac and now on Prevacid...hoping she grows out of it soon, but her pedi said don't count on it, it can take a while. Just hoping it gets better as she gets bigger!!

  • I'm very sorry to say that we are still having issues at 23 months actual (20 adjusted) :(

If I knew that when he was a newborn I wouldn't have thought we could have made it through.

    HUGS!
