Babies: 9 - 12 Months

When can a baby have wild game meat?

My dad is a hunter and I love all the venison and pheasant he brings home.  LO will be a year in 2 weeks or so and I was wondering when I could give her wild game meat?  Is it along the standards of shell fish?

Thank you!

  • DS started eating deer and elk around 10 months.

  • I would think when they can eat other kinds of meat.

This is what I was thinking.

This...I gave my DS a few bites of venison sausage last week and he loved it!  I was a little concerned over choking, but he ate it like a champ.

  • mostly all we have in our house is wild game.  She's eaten it since she could eat other meat.  Why would wild meat be any different then regular meat?

  • i think either of them would be ok whenever you greenlight chicken or beef.  the reasons you wait on shellfish do not apply to those meats.
