Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I would tell you ladies how much it means to me to know I have this board to go to and "talk" to people who understand what I am going through. I am truly thankful for that. You all have really helped keep me sane.
I am also thankful for my beautiful boys, who are both perfect in their own way. There is no way to predict the future, but tomorrow I just plan on eating pie and enjoying my family.
Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving.

Carson Henry, born 39w, 2d, via emergency c/s due to no fetal movement and fetal distress. Seizures, IVH grade 2, brain injury, kidney and liver damage. Complete blood clot in the artery in his right arm. 27 days in the NICU. Now discharged from all specialists, excepts his kidney doctor, who will monitor him indefinitely. My tough little cookie.

I am thankful for this board as well. I have learned so much from everyone!
I am also thankful that we have survived our first year with Nate. He will be One next Friday!
His Story has been a very interesting "read" so far. We have not been bored, we have been scared, we have been surprised and we now have high hopes that his future will turn out to be so much better than the worse-case-scenarios that the interweb research told us about. "Neurotypical" now seems so blase'. Where's the challenge in that?

I'm just thankful. Things could have been so much worse. Yes, my baby ended up in the NICU but I was able to bring him home. He only stayed there 9 days. My new years resolution is to let go of all the "typical things" that I didn't have.
I'm thankful for my husband, my son, and all the understanding ladies on this board and other boards. I'm thankful that I am allowed to be Eli's mama.
