hello! I talked to my OB today and she said to get a fertility monitor. Anyone have any suggestions? Is it worth an investment or are the one-time testers worth it?
I am using Clear Blue Easy FM - it is very easy to use, but you should be aware you have to start using it within the first 5 days of your cycle. Shop around for the best price, though, if that's the one you choose. It's not cheap!
As for how effective it is... couldn't tell you! I've heard some people suggest that you back it up with regular OPKs until you're sure it works correctly. I haven't done that yet, but it might be worth a try if you suspect it's not working right.
I've used my CBEFM for about 5 cycles now. I love it. I love the fact that it starts to give me high readings about 5 days in advance of my peak reading.
My first cycle I backed it up with OPK's becuase I didnt really trust it. And this past cycle I never got a peak. I did get a OPK+ but then my OB said she's not sure I O'd because my progesterone tested super low. So I dont know what to think about last cycle. But in general I really like my CBEFM.
Good luck to you!

I have one that a friend used only one cycle and got a BFP with. So it comes with blessings
I like it - I had a tough time at first getting used to it but now it's easy.
If you look at my chart you can see my high readings and peak readings - the peaks correlated with a positive OPK at least for one of the days.
Does it tell me more than temping? I don't know. I find temping and OPK's to be enough data but I figure it was "free", why not.
