NTTGPR - Why won't this day end?

I'm sitting here at work, doing NOTHING, and yet I can't go home.  I understand that we can't have the entire day off but we really have to sit here until 5:30PM?  How is that helpful to the company?  Would letting us go at 3PM really hurt anyone.  I have a 5 hour drive tonight and I'd love to get home before 2AM. 

 Ok vent is over, I'll go back to not working.

Yuck I know! I'm here until 5, I work at a bank so, VERY busy today so hopefully that will at least make it go faster....

I know, right???  I was JUST complaining about that!  I mean c'mon, it's 3 o'clock and sorta dead.  Why not just let us go home so I can stop counting the seconds down until 5?  I'm not in any way productive right now anyway.  I keep hitting refresh on TTGP every 10 seconds, LOL

I am stuck at work until 5:30, and then back bright and early Friday morning.  Boo!! 

I have decided to use my time wisely and get some Christmas shopping done.

I guess I should be happy that I have Friday off....someone just brought in cupcakes so I have spent the last 20 mintues taking them around our building to share with my coworkers.  Now I just have 2 more hours to waste.
