Trying to Get Pregnant

Forget about pregnancy brain- how about pregnancy on the brain brain?

Since DH and I are so new to this, it has been absolutely consuming me! Yes, I am well aware that it can take months, years, etc. However, I can't help but thinking about it constantly! I feel like all of my brain power is being sucked away by thinking about pregnancy. In the past week, I have completely forgotten something big at work (very not like my type A pers.), lost my train of thought in the middle of my sentence countless times, spent 30 min looking for my glasses which were on my head and I just knocked over my water bottle on my desk, tried to grab my iPhone and dropped it on the floor. Wow, spaz anyone? Please tell me someone else has had pre-pregnancy brain?

  • It is very hard not to think about it ALL the time and get consumed by it. I wish I had some advice for you. My brain is horrible lately because my BFF just had her second DS on Sunday and I spent two hours at her house last night holding him most of the time. She does know we are TTC but her DH doesn't and my DH doesn't know I told her Embarrassed So she kept saying "Doesn't it feel good holding him?" I am like you don't have to convince me, convince my body!

  • I hear ya! It is often the topic of conversation with my friends and family who know (some do not everyone) and my husband which means I am thinking about it often. I have marked a few online pages...like the places that make the socks that look like shoes the little mary jane ones are adorable. My best friend had a baby 4 months ago and during her 9 months I was looking online (since she lives out of state) at all the cool things she could do, buy, or try for when the baby arrived. At the time we were not ready to start having children but now that we are I have been looking back through all that cool stuff. So you are not the only one for sure! Happy thanksgiving.
  • I was like that too when DH and I first started to TTC, now I try and keep it more under control, but I still "window shop" for what is the best for pregnant women...heheheeh!

  • i was just thinking the same thing!
  • i can SO relate...my husband and i started TTC earlier this month for the first time and for the 2 weeks following our "start" date i was baby crazy!!! i still am but it has died down a bit...im sure it will do the same for you. but its okay to be excited so go with it! just try to go about your day normally or add distractions to get you're pre-baby pregnancy brain to quiet down LOL..to distract myself i started buying more magazines to read and i journal everything. i never used to journal but with all this in my head and we dont want to tell anyone we we're TTC..journaling really helps me get it all out..i even cut and paste pictures in of baby stuff i like! hey whatever works!!
