Hi I notice that alot of you ladies have been putting spelling of names on here so I wanted to join in on the fun
My DH and I have picked the name Jackson for a little boy but dont want to spell it Jackson because I dont want people calling him Jack. ( Nothing against the name just NMS) So we are thinking either
jaxon or jaxson?
Which do you ladies think?

Yep.
This!
If we always responded with "do what ever you love" this board would get boring in a hurry.
Jackson or bust.
The "xs" combo is just so unnecessary. You don't need both!
If I saw a resume I would interview a Jackson before a Jaxon because it just looks ... stupid.

Can you just inform people that his name is Jackson, not Jack? I know lots of people whose children go by their full names and not a diminutive version of it. (like Andrew, not Andy)
Not a fan of replacing letters.
This. Seriously, how hard is that?
I like Jaxson - nn Jax
I don't think spelling it Jaxson or Jaxon or anything like that will keep people from calling him Jack if they are inclined to give him a nn. It also won't keep your son from wanting to be called Jack, if that turns out to be his style.
I would spell it correctly, Jackson. You can still call him Jax or Jackson and avoid using Jack. Jaxon looks so made up, I'm not a fan.
Also, to pp, this isn't a tough crowd it is an honest crowd. There is no point to a baby names board if everyone is going to lie.
I really prefer Jackson, I don't think people will call him Jack if you don't. Call him Jax or Jj if you want.
But if you must I prefer Jaxon.

Interesting... I feel like if you were really a lurker here, you would have known the answer you were going to get.
Jackson definitely.

Wow. I agree with the other posts that if you want to use Jackson spell it Jackson or pick another name entirely. You could also use Jacks as a nn for Jackson and it will sound the same as Jax.
Jaxon is not cute, it only makes me think the parents are teens or just don't know how to spell.
Your lack of intelligence doesn't trick us one bit, nor does it set us off. It just makes us feel sorry for your baby.
Oh, and by the way..A LOT is two words. Unless of course you just don't like the typical spelling.
Feel free to run back and let peole know how crazy we all are here on the baby name board. You know the board where people come to ask other people's opinions on the names they are considering. How crazy of us all to give our honest opinions when people come here to ask. If your name sucks, like yours does, you shouldn't ask people what they think.
Thought you'd enjoy this.

OP, you can use whatever spelling you want. If you want the nn Jax then start using it early. As for the harsh crowd- if you ask for opinions you will get them. Don't take it personally. Everyone is just giving their opinion.
Back the truck up. Mags, when did you start responding with more than 1 sentence?
I agree that Jackson is the best spelling.
Jackson.
BTW, my name is Catherine and I've gone my entire life without a nickname, despite the plethora of ways to shorten my name. If you want him to go by Jackson, just call him Jackson and correct people when they call him Jack.
I love you dearly
Holy shiot did I do that?
Did we not just respond to this exact question within the last week?!
I'm not typing out my response again...simply put, Jaxon/Jaxson is plain awful.
I love this name! Do what you and DH love! (GAG!)
Jaxon is *horrible*. If you want it to be pronounced Jack-son, this spelling is not correct. I pronounce it JACK-ON, which makes me think of Jack-off. So...yep. Definitely not that one.
Jaxson is trendy and gross too.
How about Jackson? (I know, boooorrring)
Jackson = This is a nice name
Jaxon = This is a comic book hero that kids name there dog after.
Jaxson = What are you doing?
?*2 = pronounced Jackson, This is perfect for you!
Why ask our opinions if they don't matter? Why ask, then make fun of us on another board? You think causing "drama" is fun and think we're b*tches for taking the time to answer your question honestly and sharing our perspective. I think you're arogant.
Yep, this. We have Madeleine and she is rarely called Maddie/Maddy. Once she started pre-school they tried calling her Maddie and she told them "No, my name is Madeleine".
