How many strollers are you registering for?

Strollers are my latest obsession. I look at them everywhere I go, I've researched lots online and in Baby Bargains. I'm getting the BOB Rev as my primary, what are you all hoping to use as a secondary/lightweight stroller? I think my SIL is giving me her snap n go base so I will have that when he's still in the infant car seat, but I was thinking of registering for a lightweight when he is a little bigger. What are you all doing?

Re: How many strollers are you registering for?

  • What we did:  We got the snap and go, and then only had an umbrella stroller after that.  So glad we didn't get the bigger bulkier stroller!

What I kind of wish we had done:  Registered for a stroller that could be converted to a double stroller.  Now that # 2 is on the way, something like the Phil and Teds, or the Baby Jogger City Select would have been much more practical.

  • We're registering for 2: the Uppababy Vista & a Bob Revolution. Before I found out I was pregnant, I used to run with my husband and did my first 1/2 marathon w/ him (whoot). Austin has so many stroller friendly races that I would love to start running again once I get the OK and take the LO with us! I remember running my first 5k and saw a lady pushing a Bob with one hand and had an SLR camera in the other--that's totally going to be me! haha!

  • None, lol.

I WAS registered for the Graco snap n go and the BJ City Mini. But turns out my cousin has the Graco that she's willing to give us, so that came off the registry. And we want the 2011 City Mini for the upgrades from the 2010 model, but it's not available on BRU yet, so I'm waiting it out.

  • I only put one on the registry, a Baby Jogger Summit XC, it's $400 so I know we won't get it. I keep changing my mind whether or not I want a luxury stroller or not. I already have a MacLaren Snap and Go that I got off Craigslist. I also have a MacLaren double which is an umbrella stroller from a lady I know for $20!!! (Originally well over $200) for the baby + the kid I nanny. I needed an easy to use double and one that had a reclining option for the infant if needed. I didn't need a luxury double because we plan to have #2 when #1 is 3ish so they don't need much more than an umbrella.

I know eventually I'll get the single MacLaren umbrella stroller. They just fold so nice but work so much better than regular umbrella strollers. I'm also tall and the $30 ones just don't fit me.

Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

  • We actually bought a Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle, so that will be our main stroller, but there is a Chicco umbrella stroller on our registry. I like the Aprica Presto, like pp mentioned, but I think the price might keep someone from buying it for us as a gift.

  • 2 and 1/2 , with the snap and go being the half. One is a jogger and the other is the regular stroller. We didn't want a travel system and were really happy to find that the peg pergeo stroller. The regular part of the stroller comes out, and the car seat can be inserted in place of it (almost like having another snap and go). Once the baby is out of the car seat, the regular part of the stroller snaps back in.

  • I registered for a Maclaren Techno XLR.  It's basically a really nice umbrella stroller.  It can recline fully (for newborns and naps) but it is pretty compact and lightweight.  I bought a car seat carrier stroller on craigslist so I'll be using that.  Craigslist and consignment sales are wonderful for buying things like strollers, etc.

  • I only registered for one, the BOB revolution (in black). My SIL has this stroller and from seeing her use it I know it will fit our lifestyle perfectly!

  • For DS we had a snap n go, Bumbleride Indie and then a Chico Umbrella. Believe it or not we used all of them. They all served a different purpose.  The snap-n-go is perfect for the first 6 mos.  The Bumbleride is great for walks/runs and even shopping.  The unbrella is great for quick trips, traveling (your stroller will get beat up and dirty when you travel on a plane so think of then when you make the purchase), going to the zoo, etc and also shopping.

For this LO, I plan on keeping all the strollers and getting the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. :)

  • We're not 'registered' for any because my mom & MIL are going halves on a Baby Jogger City Select for us (we plan on trying for #2 soon after #1 is settled in). SIL gave us a jogging stroller years ago when she didn't use it anymore. DH also picked up a double jogger a few years ago from someone.

  • We aren't registering for one. My mom and grandmother are getting us the City Select and since you can use a car seat attachment with it, we'll do that. We tested it out in the store and loved it!
