I know I don't post much (if at all!) but I need to vent..
Decided to take pups to the dog park this AM-- it started raining on the way there but I figured I'd get there and assess, and even if they had 5 minutes to run that was something. I've got 2 siberian huskies, so they do need exercise!
I parked in the service spot right next to the dog park b/c nobody was there and we weren't staying long, instead of parking on the other side of the lot to get to the park.
Apparently one of the leashes got unhooked on the ride there, and out jumps my boy. I grabbed his tail but he got loose. No biggie, the girl gets loose all the time and runs to the gate, so I'm hoping he'll do the same.
Nope! he keeps running.. and running.. down the road.. turns left (which goes towards the vet, so no biggie!!)
Jumped back in the car (thank god it was so close!) with the other dog and start driving. Thought I'd catch him at the vet b/c I found him there peeing all over having a grand old time. Ran inside the vet and grabbed biscuits ( again, thank god they know me b/c I grabbed and ran while yelling why), but no, he continues to bolt down the road..
Finally got in front of him after gunning it in the car and thew biscuits out the window, which stopped him long enough for me to grab him..
He was so happy.. I'm so annoyed.. then it was back to the vet to pay for biscuits.. halfway soaked since it was starting to rain again..
And now I feel crampy-- its right under my chest so I know its not uterine cramps, but now I have muscle cramps from running after a dog, and my back is already bothering me.. so now im just mad at the dog..
Babys kicking up a storm, I'm sure thanks to his adrenaline rush that he got..
Vent over, thanks for "listening" ![]()

Re: I must vent.. stupid dog :/
Wow! What a frustrating way to start your day
Sorry you had to go through that.
Isn't it the worst when they do stuff like that while you are trying to do something nice/good for them?!
I need too!
However I think now more then ever I'm in desperate need to go visit the chiropractor (been meaning to go for like, 2 weeks!), and I have a haircut appointment at 140..
lol.. what a day..
At least the dogs are passed out and not going anywhere...
Wow, sounds like a scene out of a sitcom. Sorry for your frustrating start to the day but the part about you gunning it in your car and throwing dog biscuits out to slow him down/distract him made me LOL. Work out for the week, done.
Yeah, our dog is too big and strong for me to take her out on my own because she's so very excitable and not trained enough to really listen to my commands (DH brought her into our relationship so I'm still trying to establish myself as alpha). We're going to need to have a good round of re-training/reinforcing before LO comes next year.
Hope your day turns around!
Dont you just love huskies? lol
i have one too and she used to pull stuff like this every so often. she scared the life out of me once when she ran into a busy street, ugh i still get mad just thinking about it
Its got to be a husky thing then-- so glad I'm not alone!!
Our girl has gotten out of the car before, but she bolts right to the dog park gate and waits to get in- no biggie.
your right too -- it was a game the whole time chasing him. He was so happy and thought it was great
I'm paying a visit to the OB this afternoon, just having some pressure and some 'twinges' in my lower abdomen, and since we're flying out of town for thanksgiving, better be safe then sorry!
