Just got back from the ER

My poor little 2 year old had to go to the emergency room due to severe constipation. Turns out he was impacted. It took several hours, x-rays of his tummy, lots and lots of screaming and crying, a supossitory, and an enema before we were able to leave. Now, we are still waiting. He still hasn't pooped. Jeez! If he hasn't gone by morning, I have to call his pediatrician and go from there. He was screaming in pain around 5 o'clock this evening. Constipation is something we struggle with on a daily basis and have since he was an infant. We give him fruit juice with water practically all day and sometimes mix Miralax or Mineral Oil with milk if it has been a day or two. So, needless to say, we are very familiar with this but tonight was horrible. DH and I were both pretty scared by the way he was screaming for two hours. He screamed and cried so much that he fell asleep and then woke back up crying again. So, while this is not an emergency, please send thoughts and prayers our way for my little boy. I hate to see him in pain!

Oh, and on a PG related note, I puked dinner up in the hospital bathroom while we were waiting to be admitted. Real fun!!
