Really unhappy with my BJCS stroller

I thought this stroller would be perfect for us and it's been nothing but a pain in my booty. It's so hard for me to fold up, today I had to leave it upright cuz I couldn't get the folding pulls to release.  I hate how I have to get the infant carrier just right or it feels  like its gonna fall off if I go over one bump wrong. Plus the front is so fricken heavy to turn.

So I am looking for a new stroller. I mainly use it for my daily long walks and I need something for all terrian because I go on trails by my house. I'm thinking abour just getting a bob. How is the folding on that? Does anyone ever use it in the mall? Is it really hard to turn?

Re: Really unhappy with my BJCS stroller

  • I don't have a BOB - but we looked at it. I liked the foot room and handling of the Bumbleride indie twin much better. Since the BOB just goes to a point - it has 0 foot room for older kids. The Indie turns VERY easily and it's easy to fold. The only negative is that it doesn't clasp closed that well - so I just put it up in the car without doing that and it doesn't bug me at all. We have a Graco infant seat and that worked well - you just set it on the seat and buckle a little strap over.

Sorry you don't like your original stroller :(

  • that stinks.

we have a phil and ted sport with the jumpseat and love it.  they have a new version where you can snap the carseat in while the toddler sits too. and it can fold with the jumpseat still attached.  it isn't the sport but the newer model... explorer???    I see a lot of p&ts here in nyc.  it's nice. I can push it with one hand and two toddlers in it while walking the dog.  I am just now (in 2 1/2 years) not using it much. dd is almost 5 and wants to walk everywhere now... b/c of that, ds doesn't want to sit.  I walk while the are in school...  only time they ride now is if dh and I walk in the park together.

a friend has a bob and can fit three kids (two younger buckled, older will sit in the middle in the front when he gets tired.  it's big.  not sure about the mall, but we used our strollers (her bob, my p&t) in parks and at the beach.   she said she loves it, only complaint was it takes up a lot of room in her trunk and seems heavy.  which most doubles are.

  • I'm sorry you don't like your City Select. My mommy friends who have it LOVE it, so this is the first I'm hearing of someone not liking it.  I'm sure you can sell it and recover a good portion of what you paid.

We also have the Indie Twin. I love it.  Love love love.  The fold isn't compact, but I have yet to really find many doubles that are (aside from the City Mini).  I wouldn't consider it all-terrain but it goes nicely over gravel, mulch, cobblestones, pavement, etc.  You should definitely test it out before purchasing!

  • I have the baby jogger. I love it but I have to admit it is getting annoying when you go over a slight bump and the infant carseat pops out and falls down. It's happens to me many times and I can't wait til ds can go into the seat so I don't have to deal with it.

Don't you strap it in?  I can't see how it would fall out if it's securely strapped in.  Sounds like human error there, not something with the stroller.  You might want to figure it out before your LO gets seriously injured.  I have the same stroller and I've NEVER had an issue with the carseat falling off the adaptor.
