How much do you pay your teenage babysitter?

 We just had our first teenage babysitter (14 years old). She basically left it up to us as to how much to pay her. We paid her $8.50/hour. ($30 for 3.5 hours). She was so great and actually brought crafts for the girls to do. I am feeling like I underpaid her.

We talked to one other friend who pays theirs $ 8/hour.We had a nanny babysit for us in the past, and she charged us $15/hour.

We paid $12/hr for a 23 year old

$15/hr for a 28 year old nanny

I pay $7-$8/hr for our younger teenage sitters (14 & 15).

Around here the going rate is $7-8 per hour. In MD it was $10 per hour.

$12/hour for one kid. she's actually a college student, 19 I think. She works at PAC's daycare too so he knows her well. In fact, according to him, she's his "girlfriend."

Our 13 y/o sitter asks for $6/hr (I had anticipated paying her at least $8 based on what I've read on the Nest and talking to people IRL). I always round up very generously.

Seems like babysitters in Canada are a steal of a deal! We paid $5 an hour for 2 kids to a 14 year old- but I too always rounded up generously. We will pay $6 for 3 kids.
