When is good time to buy infant seats?

Just wondering how many weeks along you guys were when you bought your car seats? :P

My baby shower was at 24 weeks (maybe 25) but I didn't get my car seats until 28 weeks because i was waiting for them to go on sale

We got ours at 26 weeks for baby shower gifts from family. Now at 32 weeks, my husband started installing them in the car. Just wanna be prepared in case I go into labor early!

well, figure that if you had them early they wouldn't come home until you were supposed to be about 36-40w most likely... 35w would be the earliest they'd go home, and that's unlikely- so you have until them to get them and have them installed --- that's how i looked at it

Have to ditto Goldie again.  Don't worry about having them prepared too early, just because they're born early doesn't mean they'll come home early.

I think we got them when I was somewhere around 30 to 32 weeks.
